The highest mountain you will climb

The first of my four elements is Success.

The dictionary defines success in four different contexts. One, the favourable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavours. Two, the attainment of wealth, position, honours, or the like. Three, a successful performance or achievement. Four, a person or thing that is successful (dictionary.reference.com). To me success is when you wake up in the morning feeling that the day is going to be a fulfilling one. When you are passionate and energized to strive to achieve something great that day. This kind of passion in what you have chosen to do is my ultimate goal in life. My current struggle is finding a career path that I can channel my strange creativity into and which field will suit me best.

This struggle is something that can be tracked throughout human history and I found that it is fairly evedent in my family. The women of my heritage are prime examples. As women of "that" era they were forced into stereotpical jobs. All four of my greatgrand mothers were house wives. My Grandmother on my dad's side, Jacoba Arendse nee Mopp, worked in a factory that made bags and later suits. My Grandmother on my mom's side, Agnes Carolissen, worked as a florist for long than I've been alive (20 years). Each had their own dreams that reached far higher than what they were forced to settle for. My mother, Michelina Arendse nee Carolissen, has been a senior phase primary school teacher for over 25 years. All but two of those years were spend at the same school. She took this safe option over her dream of becoming either an airhostess or a musician.

Despite the fact that their dreams were foreshortened, they all worked hard to make the most of the lot that they had been dealt.
